Pre-K 4 early registration and the Pre-K 3 lottery application for the 2026-2027 school year are open now! Pre-K 4 Early Registration will be open from March 2 to June 19, 2026. The Pre-K 3 lottery will be open March 1 to June 19, 2026.

Edward Williams School celebrates Pi Day with high spirits and sweet surprises

Edward Williams School celebrated Pi Day one day early, filling the building with excitement, teamwork and plenty of pie. Although Pi Day is officially recognized on March 14th, Assistant Principal Ms. Tiffany LeFever organized an early celebration on March 13th, so students and staff could enjoy the festivities together before the weekend.

Eighth graders learn about educational options during High School Choice Night

Eighth graders across the Mount Vernon City School District got a glimpse into their options for high school on Wednesday evening during the High School Showcase. This annual event allows families to further understand what each of the three high schools have to offer. These include Mount Vernon High School, Mount Vernon STEAM Academy and Denzel Washington School of the Arts.

Edward Williams hosts Family Feud themed PBIS assembly for Black History Month

On Friday, February 27, the Edward Williams School community came together for an engaging and joyful PBIS assembly in celebration of Black History Month. The event was thoughtfully planned and facilitated by Ms. LeFever, Mr. Casey, and the PBIS Committee, creating an experience that blended education, celebration, and fun.

The My Brother’s Keeper program helps to open doors for students, and Student Trustee Leonard Oduro, a senior at Mount Vernon STEAM Academy, recently had the opportunity to attend a legislative conference in Albany through the program. At the conference — held by the New York State Association of Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic & Asian Legislators — he met with influential leaders and participated in meaningful discussions on student leadership and community impact.
