Edward Williams School holds book fair
Edward Williams School hosted the Scholastic Book from Monday, May 22 to Friday, May 26th, 2023. Scholars and their parents were able to purchase a wide variety of books and reading materials.
"It was a very successful event," said Tamisha Grey, reading and literacy teacher at Edward Williams.
Students from class KD at Edward Williams School immersed themselves in engaging worksheets to understand the solar eclipse that occurred on Monday, April 8, 2024. Alongside completing classroom activities, students explored their emotions surrounding the event —some students expressed nerves, others excitement, and some even admitted to feeling a little scared.
Every morning, scholars at Edwards Williams are greeted by the friendly face of their principal, Dr. Crystal Waterman, while receiving the morning announcements over Zoom. The school begins each morning by singing their school song, reciting the pledge and saying words of positive affirmation.
The sound of bouncing basketballs filled the gymnasium at Edward Williams School during New Flex Youth’s after school basketball program on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Students meet in the gymnasium after school every Wednesday to practice their basketball skills.
Edward Williams School staff, in collaboration with the Mount Vernon Department of Public Works and Commissioner Damani Bush, hosted their annual gift giveaway on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

Edward Williams School held its eighth-grade graduation on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Parents watched with joy as their children received their diplomas and became high schoolers.
Career Day at the Edward Williams School was held on Friday, June 9, 2023. Professionals from a wide variety of fields came to speak about their careers and encourage children to pursue their dreams.
Edward Williams students in kindergarten through third grade participated in annual Field Day activities. Classes took turns engaging in classic soccer and frisbee games, catching and throwing, parachute fun and batting a ball on Friday, June 2, 2023.
