Families came out for a night of educational fun at Edward Williams School during Math Night on Thursday. Students and their loved ones gathered in the cafeteria to play games like Geometry Bingo, Bear in the Bag, and Snails & Trails at the event hosted by parent liaisons Maura Gutierrez and Pamela Valdovinos.

Edward Williams School hosts field day at Brush Park

Edward Williams held its annual Field Day on May 29 at Brush Park. Students in grades K–2 participated in a morning session filled with activities including parachute games, soccer, relay races, and more. Grades 3–6 enjoyed an afternoon session featuring flag football, scatter and tug-of-war. Both groups ended their sessions with a special visit from the City of Mount Vernon DPW water truck, a refreshing highlight to an event-filled day.

Glow Up for the Test: Edward Williams Hosts Masked Singer-Inspired Pep Rally

Edward Williams School recently energized students in grades 3 through 6 with a lively State Test Pep Rally designed to motivate, encourage, and reduce test-related anxiety as students prepare for the upcoming state assessments. The event, organized by the school’s PBIS Committee, transformed the auditorium into a glowing celebration with a vibrant Glow Party atmosphere. Neon lights, music, and high energy filled the room as students were reminded that preparation, confidence, and effort are the keys to success.

Edward Williams School celebrates Pi Day with high spirits and sweet surprises

Edward Williams School celebrated Pi Day one day early, filling the building with excitement, teamwork and plenty of pie. Although Pi Day is officially recognized on March 14th, Assistant Principal Ms. Tiffany LeFever organized an early celebration on March 13th, so students and staff could enjoy the festivities together before the weekend.

Edward Williams hosts Family Feud themed PBIS assembly for Black History Month

On Friday, February 27, the Edward Williams School community came together for an engaging and joyful PBIS assembly in celebration of Black History Month. The event was thoughtfully planned and facilitated by Ms. LeFever, Mr. Casey, and the PBIS Committee, creating an experience that blended education, celebration, and fun.

Annual Gift Giveaway Brings Joy to Edward Williams Students

This year’s Annual Gift Giveaway was a heartwarming success! Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Edward Williams staff and the Mount Vernon Department of Public Works, we received over 400 gifts for our students. Our celebration was made even more special by the presence of Superintendent Dr. Strickland, representatives from Fleetwood Bakery and Mayor Shawyn Patterson Howard, who joined us in spreading holiday cheer.
