Dear Families,

Welcome to 6th Grade! To help students stay organized and successful, we will be using a streamlined organizational system this year in ELA/SS. Since student lockers may be located far from the classroom, we are asking students to keep most of their ELA materials together in one place to reduce lost assignments and improve organization.

ELA Organizational System

1 Five Star Flex Hybrid Binder (or similar binder/notebook combination)

Please set up the Flex Binder as follows:

• Section 1: Reading Comprehension
• Section 2: Vocabulary
• Section 3: Grammar
• Section 4: Writing
• Section 5: Class Notes, Projects, and Assessments

Inside the binder, please include:

• 5 divider tabs
• Loose-leaf notebook paper
• Pencil pouch
• 10–20 sheet protectors

This binder will be used daily and should come to school each day.

Important Note

Organization is an important skill that students will continue to develop throughout sixth grade. The Flex Binder system allows students to keep notes, assignments, handouts, and resources together in one location, making it easier to stay organized and prepared for class each day.
